The purpose of this blog is to point out that Islam is not defined by what Muslims do. Muslims are human beings, and human beings are inherently imperfect. Islam does not need reforming as many critics point out, there is nothing wrong with Islam. It is the Muslims that need to understand the true essence of Islam and practice their religion correctly.
Allah tells us that you will be tested with good, evil, wealth and poverty in this world. It is essential to understand that we are here on a temporary basis, no one knows when they are going to die, but everyone knows that inevitably they will be faced with death. As Muslims, we are experiencing a lot of problems in which we helped to create ourselves. Some of these problems mainly originated from the fusion of Islam and the cultures of the people that adopted it. Islam teaches unity but never before have Muslims been this divided. Islam prohibits violence and the killing of innocent people, but the murder of innocent people in the hands of so-called Muslims is a common occurrence, e.g. the war on Yemen led by Saudi Arabia.
Islam is a religion of peace, forward thinking and a blessing to humanity. The Quran teaches self-improvement so that Muslims can strive towards the best version of themselves they can be: Allah tells us to have hope, to work hard, to express fear but never turn to despair as Allah is the most Merciful and can change one’s conditions in the blink of an eye. We need to change our mindsets we continue to create problems for ourselves but expect different results. We are not taking responsibility for our actions. We are pointing the finger of blame to everyone but ourselves. That is our problem. We need to stop, think and reflect on our actions.
